What are you going to tell the parents of the dead soldiers killed because of this – what is your solution for pacifying Afghanistan? What is your solution for pacifying Iraq? Agree, Bush Adminstration had no plan for Iraq beyond Saddam’s statue falling and those lack of plans killed many.

Phyllis is right. This is no time to sit on our hands. Our senators and congressional reps seem to have forgotten who they work for — and it is our duty to remind them. So c’mon folks — give us a hand. If you can’t be in Brooklyn, start your own phone-a-thon where ever you are. And please, please let us know how you’re doing. Tell us what works, what doesn’t and we’ll do the same. Lets work together to become an effective road block to these continued fiscal and humanitarian atrocities.

That should read:
“That was a super way to celebrate your birthday.” — and it was!

I still work — at the Fred Friendly Seminars — and I have a few years on you — I’m always doing too many things at once and certainly multi-tasking is harder when you’re an octo-genarian —

That was a gsuperway to celebrate your birthday. Onward with all your causes. Your blog came up on my office email because it ended with a quote efrom my late husband, Fred Friendly. “Our job is to make the agony of decision-making so intense, you can escape only by thinking.”

How serendipitious that it should come up today for me — today, March 3 is the anniversary of his death 3,3,1998. A great man — with guts, brains, driven, creative, imapginative, a doer!

Fred would say — “Forget that I died — remember that I lived!” …and I do.
